Biography:

Dr. Umair Bin Nisar is working as an Assistant Professor at Department of Meteorology. Umair is a geophysicist by heart and Hydro-geophysicist by passion. He has a PhD in Geology with specialization in Hydro-geophysics having sound geophysical background through his MS and M.Sc in Geophysics. Umair has over 12 years of teaching, research and project supervision experience at undergraduate and graduate level at the university. He is working as a Co-Principal Investigator in two Higher Education Commission Pakistan funded projects related to groundwater exploration and quality in different cities of Pakistan.
Umair focuses on assessing the various components of the water cycle. Among different components his emphasis mostly remains on groundwater, its occurrence, distribution, quality/ quantity and interaction with surface water. He loves blending the climate change into hydrology by exploring the nexus between precipitation, temperature influences on cryosphere, surface and groundwater distribution.
