Biography:

Dr. Yasser Shahzad is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Department of Pharmacy, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore Campus. He has formulation sciences background with extensive experience from both industry and academia. He has a particular interest in drug delivery research at the interface of chemistry and pharmaceutics, and publishes regularly in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. He has authored more than forty research publications and also authored a book chapter. He served as editorial board member of various international journals and regularly act as a reviewer for peer-reviewed international journals. Before joining CUI in March 2018, Dr. Yasser served University of Central Punjab form June 2015 to February 2018 as Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics. He also experienced postdoctoral position at the North-West University (NWU), South Africa, where he investigated nanoemulsions for drug delivery into and through the skin, and offered technical support and expert advice to undergraduate and postgraduate students on various formulation and drug delivery aspects. He was also a member of Pharmaceutics Research Committee at NWU. Dr. Yasser received a prestigious scholarship from the University of Huddersfield (UK) to pursue his doctoral research with Dr. Laura J. Waters. He was also appointed as a Research Assistant on an industrial project jointly funded by Lhasa Pvt. Ltd (Leeds, UK) and the University of Huddersfield during his PhD studies. Yasser graduated with a B. Pharm from the Bahauddin Zakariya University (Pakistan) in 2006 and became a registered pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of Punjab in 2006. Yasser also earned M.Phil. Pharmaceutics degree in 2009 before moving to United Kingdom.
