Sana attended Department of Pharmacy, University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Pakistan, graduating in Pharmacy in 2012. She was appointed as a Research Associate in Department of Pharmacy, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2012. Her MS in Pharmacy took place at Department of Pharmacy, CUI, Abbottabad Campus, Abbottabad, Pakistan in 2015. Sana stated PhD in Pharmacy in 2016 in the same university. During this period, she won HEC Indigenous Scholarship for PhD and IRSIP Scholarship.
Sana spent one year of her IRSIP research in the most prestigious university of USA, the Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA. There she worked in Harvard Medical School as Graduate Research Assistant on antibacterial photodynamic therapy. This work was submitted as a thesis leading to Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacy recently in 2022.
Sana is known to adopt new technology early and is involved in conducting practical and theoretical work in Department of Pharmacy, CUI, Abbottabad Campus, Abbottabad, Pakistan. Her practical experience cover nanomedicine, photodynamic therapy, in-vivo studies, cytotoxicity assays, confocal, SEM and TEM analysis, histopathological analysis and antimicrobial susceptibility studies.
