Biography:

"Dr. Muhammad Irshad is a Professor of the Department of Environmental Sciences, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. Currently he is also the chairman of the Department. He got BS and MS degrees from the Agriculture University,  Peshawar, KP, Pakistan. He obtained PhD degree from Tottori University Japan in Bioenvironmental Science in 2003. Later he did post doctorate of Japan Society of Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) at Tottori University, Japan. He has worked in Japanese University as a faculty for three years. He has thirty-two years of broad-based local and international academic and research experience in Soil and Environmental Sciences. Most of his research work has been associated with the characterization and recycling of livestock manures as source of plant nutrients after co-composting with plant litter for the enhancement of soil fertility as well as its productivity. In his research work, mitigation of toxic metals, and organic pollutants from soils have been focused. He has special experience in the research related with the nutrients dynamics in soil-plant system. Water resources management in relation to climate change has also been studied by Dr. M. Irshad. He has established a graduate research lab for Soil Sciences at COMSATS UI, Abbottabad and supervised four and co-supervised two PhD students and 26 MS students. He has published >140 research articles with cumulative impact factor of > 200 with > 2150 citations. He achieved           Ph. D. Scholarship from (Monbusho) Ministry of Education, Government of Japan (1999-2003). Got Publication Award from Sand Dune Society of Japan in 2004. President of Pakistan Award (1989) for securing position in B. Sc (Hons) at Agricultural University Peshawar KPK. He is a higher education commission (HEC) approved supervisor and also received yearly research productivity awards from COMSATS University Islamabad from 2011 to 2018, consecutively. He participated in several international conferences notably in Pakistan, Japan, Dobai, China, Australia and France.
