With over 24 years of service excellence at COMSATS University Islamabad, Prof. Tamimy is an accomplished and well-regarded Professor of Computer Science having primary research application areas in Artificial Intelligence Data Mining, Machine Learning. Professor Tamimy earned his PhD from Graduate School of China Academy of Sciences. As an outstanding professional he has the distinct privilege of holding many key academic, administrative, and managerial positions and has been a lead organizer of numerous prominent institutional, national, and international level events. He also enjoys a sound repute as an innovative and inspiring teacher setting clear standards of performance for his students using case-based teaching approach linking theory with business functions. Professor Tamimy is a dynamic researcher. He has been a recipient of COMSATS Research Productivity Award for the past many years and has been awarded several travel grants by COMSATS and HEC for attending international conferences and events. Partnering with various government, non-government, and corporate organizations, he has established and sustained highly valued, research and practice-based learning opportunities for undergraduates. His engagements in Educational Policy making, development of outcome-based curriculum, faculty and staff development, student capacity building, introducing new and innovative BS, MS and PhD programs in computing disciplines and resource management remain some of his notable contributions to broaden the scope of IT in Pakistan.
