Biography:

Dr. Asad Muhammad Khan is an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Abbottabad Campus. He completed his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2009 from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan, under the HEC Indigenous scholarship program. Following his PhD, Dr. Khan began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), where he made significant contributions to teaching and research.

In 2012, Dr. Khan was awarded an HEC-Pakistan fellowship to pursue a Postdoc at the University of Bristol, UK, where he worked with Professor Julian Eastoe in the Colloids group. During his time at the University of Bristol, Dr. Khan was able to work at prestigious neutron scattering facilities, including Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK, Institut Laue-Langevin in France, and MAX Lab in Lund, Sweden.

Upon returning to Pakistan, Dr. Khan rejoined Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) in 2013 before moving to CUI Abbottabad later that year. Since then, he has established himself as a leader in his field, winning multiple research grants worth 16 million rupees as a Principal Investigator and establishing a successful research laboratory and group.

Dr. Khan's research interests include colloids, colloidal nanomaterials, surfactants, and their interactions, as well as silica-based materials and transition metal oxides and their optical and electrochemical responses. His research has been published in prestigious chemistry journals, including Advanced Materials, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, and Journal of Molecular Liquids. Dr. Khan is a respected member of the academic community and serves on several academic committees at CUI. He has taught over 20 courses at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels, and has played an active role in the department's curriculum and course design and development processes. He has supervised 35+ MS theses and 4 PhD theses over the years and is currently supervising MS and PhDs in his group.
