Biography:

Mr. Muzammil Behzad am a Scientific Researcher in the Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis (CMVS) at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering in University of Oulu, Finland. Under the supervision of Prof. Guoying Zhao, he is currently working towards his fully-funded Ph.D. degree majoring in machine vision and deep learning driven facial expressions. Previously, he received his partially-funded B.S. degree (with distinctions - double medalist and valedictorian) and fully-funded M.S. degree, both in Electrical Engineering, from COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Pakistan and King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, in 2013 and 2017, respectively. For his M.S. thesis, he worked with Prof. Tareq Y. Al-Naffouri on designing compressed sensing based collaborative image denoising algorithms. Back then, he served as Graduate Teaching Assistant at KFUPM (January 2015 - January 2016), and was a visiting research scholar at King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia (summers of 2015 and 2016). So far, he held research and academic positions in University of Oulu, Finland (Sep 2018 - Present), Brown University, United States (Feb - May 2019), Pukyong National University (PKNU), South Korea (May - August 2018), and in CUI, Pakistan (September 2013 - August 2014, and September 2016 - May 2018).
