Biography:

ARIF MASOUD - Principal Architect & Associate Professor, Dept of Arch & Design, CIIT-Islamabad - Project Director (COMSIAN Consulting), Islamabad - Member IAP, Member PCATP Arif Masoud has over 30 years of experience in the field of Architecture, 25 years in Saudi Arabia…(From 1975 to 2003). 22 years as the Director of Design of one of the leading A/E firms of Saudi Arabia, Zuhair Fayez Partnership, Jeddah. Abundant exposure to modern principles and techniques of project design and management, experience of working with reputed International Consultants. ….New project generation, client handling, concept design, design development, construction documents, detailing, management inside the office and outside, and an overall ability to implement the project to the last detail. During the period with Zuhair Fayez, worked on hundreds of projects ranging from large residences to Palaces, Multistory office buildings, Corporate headquarter buildings, Banks, Ministry complexes, Education complexes…Huge commercial and entertainment centers etc. He won numerous design competitions in Saudi Arabia. Most notable:- MOMRA in Riyadh, Jeddah Municipality HQ, Arab National Bank, Saudi French Bank, National Commercial Bank, GRANADA shopping Center in Riyadh, Lexus center in Jeddah, etc. In 2002 won the design completion of THE NATIONAL MONUNMENT OF PAKISTAN in Shakarpadian, completed in Mar 2007. (Jury of 9 professional members declared his design the winner out of 22 other designs submitted). In 2005 he won the Design competition of Awan-e-Quaid in Islamabad. After successful completion of the Pakistan Monument (Construction cost Rs.480 million) he joined COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad as their Principal Architect in August, 2007. He is currently teaching Architectural Design to the students of Architecture as an Associate Professor, in academic environment he conducts various courses ranging from design subjects to Human Development & Management. He is regularly involved in the Faculty Development Training Program Professional Achievements:- i) Won 1st Award in Design competition of Pakistan Monument, Islamabad ii) Won 1st Award in Design competition for Awan-e-Quaid, Islamabad iii) Won 1st Award on Shohada Monument GHQ, Rawalpindi iv) Recipient Gold Medal-Nazria e Pakistan Council v) Pak –UK excellence Award vi) Architects of Honor- Institute of Architects Pakistan vii) Chief Organizer of Pakistan Day celebration in Morocco (20th -29th March, 2012) on 23rd March 2012 (along with students of Architecture CIIT, Islamabad and Lahore Campus). viii) Chief Organizer / Stage Secretary /Host/ performer in Pak-China Business Forum held in Pakistan in April 15th -18th, 2012 (along with students of Architecture) from CIIT.
