Biography:

Dr. Zahid Ali is Ph.D from wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover-Germany and Postdoctorate from German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ) Germany. He is DAAD Alumni and is tenured faculty - Associate Professor in Department of Biosciences, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Pakistan. He is working in the field of Biotechnology and molecular farming. He is executing important research projects in the ares of "development of advanced expression vectors for recombinant pharmaceutical protein production", "Bio-herbicides formulations for weed management and their toxicological assessments", "Climate change impacts on pollens and pollens based allergies". For this a systematic database development naming "POLLENS ONLINE" is in progress (http://ww3.comsats.edu.pk/pollensonline/). In these research ares, Dr. Ali is also supervising Ph.D. and MS students to do basic and applied research. He has organised different national and international conferences, training workshops at CUI. Currently he is actively involved in development of Biosafety and Biosecurity guidelines at departmental level and organizing biosafety training course for graduate students prior to eneterance in lab in each semester.
