Dr. Aliya Zafar received her Ph.D. and Masters from the University of Florida, USA (2012/2008) in English for Speakers of other languages(ESOL)/Bilingual Education as a Fulbright Scholar. She is currently Chief Research Officer, Department of Humanities, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) and has also served as the Head, Humanities Department at CUI, Islamabad from 2012 to 2016. She has over 29 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience, has published 14 papers in national and international journals, and completed several projects. She has supervised the research of over 30 MS/Ph.D. students and has presented over 27 research papers at several national and international conferences, including the American Educational Research Association(AERA), National Association of Bilingual Education (NABE), Association of Teacher Educators(ATE), and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages(TESOL) in the United States of America.
Dr. Zafar has studied and taught in diverse countries, including China, India, England, Wales, and the United States. Her interests include Leadership, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), Bilingualism, qualitative research methods, teacher education, critical pedagogy, and business communication.
