Dr. Mohsin Raza currently works as an Assistant Professor at the Chemistry Department at COMSATS University Islamabad since September 2023. Previously, he was serving at Centre for Climate Research & Development (CCRD) at the same institution since 2015. He holds a PhD in Environmental Studies from University of Karachi. His primary focus is on reducing carbon emissions in Pakistan, covering areas such as carbon accounting, sustainable energy, carbon offsetting, and data analytics. . Currently, he is leading a project on sustainable bioenergy development in Pakistan. The project aims to build a case for integrating bioenergy into Pakistan's energy mix and is funded by the Pakistan Science Foundation. He also led a project assessing the carbon footprint of COMSATS University Islamabad, contributing to the global 'Race to Zero' campaign supported by the United Nations.
In the past, Mohsin has been a part of the international project 'Low Carbon Scenario Analysis for Pakistan,' conducted in collaboration with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), Canada. Mohsin Raza conducted his PhD research work at Maastricht University, Netherlands. His research interests include carbon mitigation, globalization, industrialization, and sustainable living.
