Biography:

Dr. Sidra Rehman will work as PI of the proposed project. Dr. Sidra obtained her M.Sc. degree in 2007 from the Institute of Chemistry at the University of the Punjab, Lahore in Pakistan. In 2008 she joined the National Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan as Mphil leading to PhD student. She obtained her PhD degree in Molecular Biology under the supervision of Dr. Sheikh Riazuddin from Center of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB). She worked as Assistant Professor in Allama Iqbal Medical College for one year where she worked on the anti-proliferative analysis of natural products against estrogen mediated breast cancer. Afterwards she joined COMSATS University as Assistant Professor in 2015. During her teaching career, She taught BS Courses of General Virology, Molecular Genetics, Health Biotechnology, Principles of Virology, Molecular Biology and PhD courses of Marine Biotechnology and Cell and Tissue culture. Her research interests include in vitro and in vivo analysis of natural products on the modulation of different signaling pathways in chronic diseases as well as the development of therapeutic natural compounds against hepatitis C virus and breast cancer. She has published over 14 scientific publications in world-reputed journals with a total impact factor of 38. Her publications were recognized by the scientific community and got more than 414 Google scholar citations till now. She has supervised 4 research students and successfully completed 1 research project as Principal Investigator. During her academic career, she has presented her research work as oral presentation in 2nd International Conference on “Drug development Natural and Synthetic” at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad.
