Biography:

Dr. Ayesha Tahir, Tenured Associate Professor at COMSATS Islamabad Campus, has received doctoral degree from UBP-INRA France in domain of Molecular Genetics and Physiology. Later on, she secured very prestigious International fellowship from one of the research institutes of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently, her focus is to enhance stress resistance by employing genome editing (CRISPR-Cas9, RNAi), by exploring natural variations (by Genome Wide association studies) as well as by utilization of Plant-microbe interaction. Her research is based on multi "OMICS" techniques (meta/genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and bioinformatics) to better understand the complex traits. She is working on mitigation of biotic and abiotic stresses with genetic and PGPR interventions to have climate resilient crops. Dr. Ayesha has number of active, national and international collaborations with world’s best Universities/Institutes such as, INRA-Clermont Ferrand, France, SIBS-CAS, Shanghai and Seoul National University, South Korea. At present, she is engaged in teaching and supervising multiple students at various degree levels.
