Dr. Atif Mahmood is a distinguished academic and researcher with a PhD in Electronics Engineering from Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (2024). He has a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (2016) and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Bahauddin Zakariya University (2010).
Dr. Mahmood brings over 14 years of diverse teaching and research experience to COMSATS University Sahiwal. He began his academic journey as a lecturer at the Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan, where he served from 2012 to 2016. During this time, he gained valuable teaching and mentoring experience. Simultaneously, he contributed as a visiting lecturer at Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, in the Computer Science Department from 2011 to 2014, broadening his teaching portfolio. He has been serving in COMSATS University Sahiwal campus from 2016 as a lecturer.
Dr. Mahmood has also had the privilege of contributing to the international academic community through his research engagement with the University of Waterloo, Canada, where he worked on cutting-edge research projects in power engineering and nanomaterials.
His research expertise spans high-voltage insulation testing, renewable energy systems, advanced characterization of nanomaterials for energy storage, and the development of anti-corrosion materials. Dr. Mahmood has authored around 15 high-impact publications in reputed journals and conferences.
In addition to his academic and research accomplishments, Dr. Mahmood is an active reviewer for prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, High Voltage Journal, and the Journal of Elastomers and Plastics, among others. His critical insights have significantly contributed to ensuring the quality and rigor of scholarly research in his field.
