Biography:
Faisal Arshad is a practising architect from Islamabad with 24 years of profound experience including 10 years of teaching experience. He has worked internationally with one of the Middle East's largest Developer and the Award Winning Malaysian Firm. International segment of his portfolio includes projects such as Meydan Horse Race Course Dubai, one of the world's most complex and integrated structures (Grandstand, Museum & Hotel), New GHQ Complex – Master Plan of E10 & D11 Islamabad, Salam Golf Resort at Yiti Oman & Bouregreg Mix Use Development, Rabat Morocco.
In 2009, he has moved back to Pakistan and has founded FA+P, a multi disciplinary practice with projects executed in major cities of the country. His practice has successfully completed projects of Modular Housing in Lahore, Flagship Stores of Turkish Brands ie KALE, LINEADECOR, ENZA HOME Islamabad, Mehran Lodges Gharyal, Residential Projects, F&B, Retail Concessions, Passenger Lounge at New Islamabad International Airport. He has been asked to advise on the Master Plan of Defence Complex Islamabad, a new development spanning on 2485 acres of land in the heart of Islamabad. His prestigious clientele list includes Pakistan Army, Private Residence Owners, International Brand Distributors, Real Estate Developers, Hotel & Resort Owners etc.
He entered into the field of academics with his services at National College of Arts, Rawalpindi. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at Department of Architecture, Comsats Islamabad. He is the founder of ‘Graphico’, Pakistan’s first leisure based graphics learning workshop program with two successful seasons conducted & published in Archi Times Architectural Magazine. Faisal Arshad has been an active member of IAP and served as the Honorary Secretary Rwp/ Isb Chapter from 2010-2012 & Vice Chairman 2017-18. Currently he is the Chairman IAP Rwp/ Islamabad 2018-19. He is the recipient of IAP Recognition Award 2011 conferred to 50 most prominent Architects of Pakistan. In 2015, American Institute of Architects inducted him as an International Associate.
Based on his academic interest & research, he co founded the program Tabeer e Nau with International famed architect Andre Meyerhans that offers field experience for creative professionals and students (urban planners, architects, designers, artists, photographers) in an interdisciplinary, interactive and intercultural setting. His program & the research outcomes have been acknowledged by Aga Khan Cultural Services Pakistan and now developing prospective outreach with Aga Khan Educational Program.
