Biography:

Dr. Omer Chughtai is an experienced professional in Computer Science and Engineering with over twenty years of expertise. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer with a focus on IT from the University of Engineering and Technology in Taxila, Pakistan. He further pursued an M.S. degree from COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan, and a Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia, where he was awarded a fully funded doctoral research scholarship. Dr. Chughtai has a strong publication history, an impressive record of securing research grants, and holds two patents. His achievements have not only gained him recognition but also reflect his dedication to mentoring Ph.D. and MS students. His research contributions span diverse areas, including cross-layer protocol design, routing in low-power wireless ad hoc networks, traffic load balancing, IoT networks, artificial intelligence, vehicular/flying ad hoc networks, and mobility/resource management in heterogeneous networks. His honors include the Research Productivity Award and a Letter of Appreciation. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Chughtai has a varied professional background, having held roles in the industry. He is an active member of esteemed organizations such as the Internet Society (ISOC), where he was honored with an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Fellowship. Dr. Chughtai is also a valued member of the Center of Innovation in Networks, Telecom, and AI Research (CINTAR), contributing to state-of-the-art technologies. Currently, Dr. Chughtai holds the position of Tenured Associate Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
