I am  working as assistant Professor in the department of Biosciences of COMSATS University, Islamabad. My field of interest is Nueroscience, Human physiology, Developmental Biology and parasitology. Major objective of my present research is to develop a new animal model of multiple sclerosis, a progressive neuro-degenerative disorders that effects young people, to test the regenerative efficacy of natural compounds both from animal and plant origin.My lab is working on the identification of compounds/molecules with the potential to promote replication of neurons and oligodendrocytes both in vitro and animal models. We is also working on the anthelmintic activity of plants of Pothohar region. We are working on the regeneration of oligodendrocyte precursor cells proliferation.

Recently we have started investigations to identify different compounds that could effectively reduce obesity.

Future endeavors include work on the development of animal model for other autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and its treatment using natural compounds particularly those used in the  Tibe e Nabavi (SAWW).
