Biography:

Dr. Qasim Umer holds the position of Assistant Professor within the Department of Computer Science at COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus, Pakistan. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Punjab University, Pakistan, in 2006, followed by a Master of Science degree in .Net Distributed System Development from the University of Hull, UK, in 2009. Continuing his academic journey, he earned another Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Hull, UK, in 2013, and later attained his Ph.D. from Beijing Institute of Technology, China. Dr. Umer further enriched his expertise through a postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Computer Science, Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea. His research interests predominantly revolve around the utilization of deep and federated learning classification algorithms to tackle challenges in irrigation systems and text classification of bug/enhancement reports.

Dr. Umer has made notable contributions to computer science, with his research findings disseminated through esteemed journals and conferences, i.e., the Internet of Things, Empirical Software Engineering, Journal of Systems and Software, International Conference on Software Analysis, Evolution and Reengineering (SANER), IEEE Transaction on Reliability, and IEEE Access. Additionally, he has gained valuable experience serving as a reviewer for prestigious journals, including IEEE Communications Magazine, ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing Communications and Applications, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IET Software, and IEEE Access.
