Biography:

Dr. Muhammad Rafi Raza graduated from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan Pakistan with M. Sc Degree in Physics in 2004. He completed his M. Phil in Solid State Physics (Specialized in Metal fabrication techniques) from University of The Punjab Lahore, Pakistan, in 2008. Later in 2012, he completed his Ph.D from the Department of Mechanical Engineering Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Malaysia, specifically in Advanced Materials Processing Techniques.

 He began his career as Research Assistant at CSSP, PU Lahore in 2006. He joined CUI Lahore Campus in 2013 as Assistant Professor, and in the same year, he moved to Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, UKM Malaysia for a Post Doctorate. He returned in 2015 and joined Department of Mechanical Engineering, CUI Sahiwal campus. Here, he taught various courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He focuses on advanced manufacturing processes (powder injection molding, powder metallurgy, sol-gel method, compression molding, resin transfer molding, casting), vacuum infusion molding, additive manufacturing of metal matrix for the development of micro and nanostructured materials, composite materials, biocomposites, and corrosion of orthopedic stainless steel, and characterization of micro and nanostructural materials. He has one Malaysian Patent and has also written eight book chapters and more than 90 journal/conference papers. During his tenure, he was involved in different departmental and campus-level committees. He is also actively researching and collaborating with various national and international research groups.

Recently, he completed his Post Doc from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Malaysia, and rejoined the Department of Mechanical Engineering, CUI Sahiwal campus. Currently, working as Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at CUI Sahiwal Campus.
