Akbar Ali Khan Afridi was born in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. He received the M.Sc. degree in Electronics from the University of Peshawar (UoP), Pakistan (http://www.uop.edu.pk) and MS in Computer Engineering from the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (Now COMSATA University Islamabad (https://www.comsats.edu.pk/). He served the Higher Education Department of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan as lecturer in Electronics from 1999 to 2008. Since 2008, he has been with the COMSATS University Islamabad as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering. His research interests include image processing and computer vision; and more recently, the pattern and character recognition.
