Biography:

Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Shah is currently working as Tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus. Further, he has worked as an invited foreign expert for 2 weeks at Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanjing China and 2 months at China Agriculture University Beijing. He holds an MPhil and a PhD from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Additionally, he completed his post-doctorate studies under the prestigious Talented Young Scientist Program at China Agriculture University in Beijing, China. His research expertise includes (i) solid waste management and its utilization for energy, agriculture, and wastewater treatments, (ii) toxicity of nanoparticles/heavy metals/salts on soil microbial activities and Nutrient cycling through waste-soil-plant continuum.

His scholarly contribution includes 78 research articles with cumulative impact factor of 260, and 3 book chapters. He also has won 8 research grants from various national and/or international funding agencies. He has very strong international collaboration and has presented his research work in >20 national and international conferences and seminars. He had organized 4 international conferences at CUI Vehari campus as focal person. He has supervised 15 MS and 10 BS students as a supervisor.

Since last 2 and half years, I have been deputed as In-charge Office of Student Affairs where he formulated 12 different Societies/Committees/Club to engage students in various co-curricular activities. Under his team leadership, the office has organized > 50 events including various opening and closing ceremonies of the student week, on-campus awareness seminars/workshops, performing art festivals, literary competitions, study abroad expo, health care camps, blood donation camps, career placement sessions, skills development session, various sports competitions, cultural shows, Independence Day celebrations, solidarity walks, poster/painting competition and much more.
