Biography:

Ghufran Shafiq received his BS in Electrical (Telecommunication) Engineering degree from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (now COMSATS University Islamabad), Islamabad, Pakistan (2011). He completed his PhD degree in Electronics Engineering (MS and PhD combined program) from Kyungpook National University, South Korea in 2018 with full honors scholarship (KHS). During his PhD, he received Qualcomm Innovation Award in 2016, and secured research funding from National Research Foundation and Ministry of Science & Technology South Korea through various projects. He joined COMSATS University Islamabad in 2011 as Research Associate and now he currently serves as an Assistant Professor. He is registered with Pakistan Engineering Council. Dr. Ghufran’s research interests include areas pertaining to Biomedical Signal Acquisition and Processing, Physiological Signal Analysis, Wearable Cardiovascular Monitoring Systems and applications of Machine learning for personalized health monitoring systems.
