Biography:

Dr. Azeem Mehmood Butt is working as an Assistant Professor at the Dept of Biosciences, CUI Islamabad. His major research domains are integration of molecular and computational biology/Bioinformatics with a focus on cancer genomics & non-invasive molecular biomarkers, infectious diseases, and next-generation sequencing. He has published more than 30 research articles in reputed International journals such as The Lancet Global Health, Nature Emerging Microbes & Infections, Scientific Reports, PLOS ONE, and others. He is also the first Pakistani scientist that developed a Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) PCR protocol for detection of SARS-COV-2 in clinical samples.
