Biography:

Dr. Rehan Ahmed is currently working as a Tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad. He joined at the Department of Meteorology of the university in 2015 as an Assistant Professor. He served the Meteorology department for the period April 2015 - September 2023 and got promotion to Tenured Associate Professor in the same department. Before joining to CUI, he was working in National Weather Forecasting Centre, Islamabad of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) as a weather forecaster. He worked in PMD for about 14 years. In CUI, he has been engaged in both teaching and research activities. He has taught several graduate level courses and supervised MS theses. He has also been issuing weather forecast of Islamabad since 2017, which is updated at the website of Islamabad campus. His current research interests are focused on analyzing and investigating data of meteorological parameters, climate, and associated atmospheric dynamics over South-Asia to identify and quantify both direct and indirect impacts of changing climate on various sectors of the human life. He employs computer and statistics based relevant tools of remote sensing and GIS software, Climate Data Operator (CDO), Grid Analysis and Display System (GrADS), R-Studio, etc., for presentation purposes.
