Biography:
Dr. Nighat Sultana M.B.B.S (RMC), MSPH (HSA-QAU)
Dr. Nighat Sultana is a medical doctor with specialization in Public Health, her key areas of interest are Research, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, she studied at Rawalpindi medical college and Health Services Acadamy, Quaid –e- Azam University, Currently she is working with Health Informatics Unit, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology at Islamabad,
Upon completion of house job at Holy Family Hospital and Federal Government Services Hospital in 1995, She joined Shifa International Hospital (Gynae & Obstetrics) in 1995 and worked till 1998 as a senior medical officer. During the period of 1999-2002 she worked as a free lance consultant with various NGOs including Water Aid International, Micronutrient Initiative, Canada and Rural Support Programme Network on Health, Hygiene, and Elimination of Hidden Hunger through Wheat Flour Fortification. Dr. Nighat Joined Integrated Health Services and provided School Health Services from 2003 to 2007. During the period of 2008-2011, she again started working as a free lance consultant and engaged with Sahil, (national NGO), Micronutrient Initiative, Child Protection and Welfare Bureau and other NGOs , she has contributed in need assessment, designing and development and conduction of different training programmes, development of IEC and BCC material and activities. She has contributed in development of comprehensive training manual on “Community Based Disaster Risk Management” as developed under USAID Funded Project. She has jointed Health Services Academy in 2012 -2013 and completed her Master of Science in Public Health with distinction.
She has experience in development of projects, programmes, training need assessment, designing of capacity building programs, handbooks, communication material, training manuals, BCC and IEC Material and activities, designing and conduction of research projects, She is quite well qualified for consultancies in health sector especially in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Micro nutrient deficiencies, Hidden hunger , Health and Hygiene Promotion.
She has experience of teaching Occupational Health and Safety, Project Management in Health, Reproductive health, Child health, Population Dynamics, Community Based Health and Hygiene Programmes, Research and Analysis.
She is capable in research proposal writing, qualitative & quantitative research and data analysis with software expertise including SPSS and STATA. Recently she has completed course on "Improving the Health of Women, Children and Adolescents; from Evidence to Action" from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London.
