Dr. Toqeer Ahmed is currently working as a Tenured Associate Professor/ Principal Investigator of D-8 funded project titled “Feasibility Study for Provision of Safe Drinking Water Through Conservation (SDWC)” at the Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI). Since his education, he has worked at responsible positions in different Government departments and R & D organizations. He has more than 18 Years of professional experience and more than 10 years post Ph.D. working experience. He has completed several national as well as international projects in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, UK and International NGOs like UNDP, IISD, SDC etc. He has more than 45 research publications in peer-reviewed research journals, newspaper articles, and 6 book chapters along with one book as an Editor in the field of Environmental Technologies, Food and Water quality assessment, wastewater treatment, climate impacts on health and Nano-biotechnology. Dr. Ahmed has lectured and presented Research Papers in both national and international conferences. He is working in the field of Environmental Microbiology, Climate Change, Water Management and Environmental Nanotechnology.
Mr. Muhammad Zahir is an Environmentalist and currently working as a Research Associate at the Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. He is doing Ph.D. from Fujian Normal, Fuzhou, China, and his research area is the monitoring of harmful algal blooms and the development of an early warning system for freshwater systems ecology. Previously he worked as a Coordinator with the ERRA on the Promotion of Rainwater Harvesting Project (PRWHP) in Abbottabad District. His research interest is Climate change and its impact on water resources, food security, and climate modeling regarding water resource management.
Ms. Saima Naz is a GIS Expert at the Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD), COMSATS University Islamabad, under the project titled “Feasibility Study for Provision of Safe Drinking Water Through Conservation (SDWC)” funded by D-8. She has done her MS in GIS & Remote Sensing from the Department of Meteorology, CUI. Currently, she is involved in several research projects related to climate change, environmental issues, and solutions. She has served as a GIS manager at Geomatics Services and completed the first phase of the Prime Minister’s cadastral mapping and digital land records project. Her research areas are marine sciences, hydrology, and water resource management.
Dr. Umair Bin Nisar is an Earth Scientist by heart and a Geohydrologist by passion. He has over 12 years of teaching research and consultancy experience. He has been involved in different local and international projects. Dr. Umair integrates geophysical and geological techniques to demarcate water-bearing zones, their extent, and the quality of water in those zones. He is a Ph.D. in geology with a specialization in geohydrology from the Institute of Geology, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, Pakistan. During his Ph.D. he demarcated subsurface contaminated zones, analyzed contaminant plume movement using electrical resistivity tomography, and validated his results by using hydro-chemical data sets. Dr. Umair uses his knowledge in hydrogeology, Climate change, Catchment hydrology, and Rainwater harvesting.
Mr. Raheel Azher is currently working as a team member in the project titled “Feasibility Study for Provision of Safe Drinking Water Through Conservation (SDWC) funded by D-8 Secretariat and providing his support in data collection. He is a Computer Science Graduate from Preston University Islamabad with a versatile technical acumen including Designing & Web Development, Backend & Front-End support, Research, and the Internet of Things. Currently, he provides freelance services to different organizations.
Alishbah Iftikhar Ahmad has completed her M. Phil. in Chemistry from COMSATS University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Her research was focused on environmental remediation, wastewater treatment, dye removal, and polymer nanocomposites. Currently, she is working as a trainee in a project “Feasibility Study for Provision of Safe Drinking Water Through Conservation (SDWC) funded by D-8 Secretariat in the Department of CCRD (Centre for Climate Research and Development) in COMSATS University Islamabad.
Dr. Faridullah completed his Ph.D. from Tottori University, Japan in 2009 and currently working as a Tenured Professor/ HoD ES at COMSATS University, Abbottabad. He has over 130 research publications, and has several conference papers and book chapters. He is also a reviewer of many Elsevier Science journals on Environmental Sciences/Agriculture.
Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed is leading the department of Economics as Head since November 2021. He holds a Ph.D. in Econometrics from International Islamic University Islamabad and a Post-Doc in Econometrics from Cornell University, USA, both with distinctions. He has published in top journals like Communications in Statistics—Theory and Methods, Economic Modelling, Applied Economics, Empirical Economics etc. He has led several training sessions on topics related to Statistics and Econometrics at top international as well as national institutes including Cornell University (USA), Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics. Dr. Mumtaz's dream is to promote econometric education in Pakistan by launching MS and Ph.D. Econometrics Programs at COMSATS.
Professor Kenneth Yongabi Anchang , titular Professor, and is a distinguished specialist in Public Health, Infectious diseases and Phyto-biotechnology with over 150 scientific publications, more than 120 conference papers and proceedings, 3 books, more than 8 scholarly book chapters, several technical papers, workshops, consultancies, many invited keynote lectures. Prof Yongabi’s research covers the African public health systems, health literacy, and the African traditional medical systems, phytomedicine, water and sanitation and bioengineering. Professor Yongabi holds two PhDs in Public Health and in Bioengineering and is a lecturer of Public Health and Infectiology at Imo state University and an adjunct professor of biotechnology at Ebonyi State University, Nigeria.
