Islamabad, September 11, 2025 — It was a day of fresh ideas and inspiring exchanges at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) when Professor Rahat Munir, Head of Accounting and Corporate Governance of Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia together with Mr. Fahad Naveed, Regional Coordinator (South Asia), visited the campus. The International Office team extended a warm reception to the distinguished guests, setting the tone for a lively and engaging program.
The highlight of the visit was Prof. Munir’s captivating lecture on “Artificial Intelligence in Contemporary Education: Redefining Relevance.” With wisdom drawn from years of academic and supervisory experience, he delighted the audience by weaving together insights on how AI is reshaping teaching, learning, and institutional practices. From personalized learning and digital literacy to ethical dilemmas and the future of work, his talk opened a fascinating window into the classrooms of tomorrow. Students and faculty alike left the hall smiling—enriched, motivated, and perhaps even a little amused by the thought of robots sharing their lecture halls in the not-too-distant future.
Prof. Dr. Khuda Buksh, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of CUI, wrapped up the session by thanking Prof. Munir for his thought-provoking address. The atmosphere was celebratory as the event concluded with a cheerful group photograph—a snapshot of collaboration in the making.
Beyond the lecture, discussions between Prof. Munir, the Dean, Dr. Umar Farooq Malik, Head of the Department of Management Sciences of Islamabad Campus, and Dr. Hammad Omer, T.I., Head of the International Office, paved the way for promising academic and research collaborations. Faculty exchanges, student opportunities, and joint initiatives stood high on the agenda, with both sides expressing keen interest in nurturing a strong and mutually rewarding partnership.
