What We Are?

COMSATS Art Gallery (CAG) was established in 2011 under the visionary leadership of Dr. S.M.Junaid Zaidi (S.I), who was the Founder Rector of COMSATS University, Islamabad (CUI). The gallery has grown tremendously over these years and has established a name in the art circle. The Worthy Rector of CUI, Prof.Dr. Muhammad T. Afzal, is a strong art supporter. Under the administrative support CAG has organized various exhibitions, art talks, workshops and seminars including different of visual art. The gallery has been organizing both National and International shows since its existence.

COMSATS Art gallery has worked with diplomatic partners including; The Embassy of Austria, Australia, Brazil, China, Italy, France and the US Embassy in Pakistan. CAG took the first travelling exhibition to China in 2017. The shows were curated by Farrah Mahmood and she travelled along with 7 participating artists to Shanghai and Beijing.

The group exhibition “The World from My Eyes”, is to bring together the works of female artists to show the strength of women. In this exhibition more than 10 female artists, across Pakistan have participated including artists, architects and designers. These artists are not only practicing but also belong to academia and their art work speaks of their experience. How the artist perceives and transform the world within themselves? Their connection to the outer world is some times important and sometimes it is not. They dream about their work and passion. The world from my eyes is a show which reflect how they worked with deep heart.
