With this international art programme hinterland – ori- ginally based in Vienna/Austria – sets up its temporary home in Pakistan. As part of the Austria – Pakistan Festival, initiated by Renald Deppe, hinterland was invited to host Pakistani artists in Vienna and to display Austrian artists in Pakistan. The result of this venture, Where are we? is a series of exhibitions to promote intercultural understanding. The first of these exhibitions took place

in June 2015 in Tehran/Iran before it moved to Vienna/ Austria. Now, an extended version of the exhibition will be on display in Lahore and Islamabad/Pakistan. For this third venue thirteen artists have been invited to work on their personal understanding of identity: their personal percep- tion and/or their historical image of a “national” identity.

This intercultural exhibition is presented by the COMSATS Art Gallery in collaboration with the Austrian Embassy Islamabad. Coordination: Farrah Mahmood (In-charge, CAG)
