Assets Management System
An asset management system is any process a company or organization uses to keep track of the equipment and inventory vital to day-to-day operation of their businesses. Exactly how those assets are managed, though, is highly variable. In large part, it depends on whether the organization in question is aware of the assets they own, and whether they’re aware of the potential ramifications of an inefficient tracking system. An accurate, real-time asset tracking system is more important than a lot of companies realize. Unfortunately, companies who don’t have a handle on their asset management typically lose considerable amounts of money and time before they begin to seek a better solution.
CUI Electronic Assets Management System (EAMS)
At CUI Islamabad campus asset management and inventory management are performed using a manual register based system. Data from registers are entered in computers in different formats for record keeping. There is no standardization and consistency between the data of these departments. Tracking assets, Real time Report Generation, Over or Under Maintenance, Improper Operations, Improper Risk Management, Difficult budgeting, Unhappy staff, Theft are some of the issues identified by the stakeholders. Currently IT Centre is running a partial inventory management software for the management of IT inventory.
