COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus, successfully organized an Alumni Meetup 2025 event on February 22, 2025. Alumni from all departments, dating back to the CUI Wah Campus's inception in 2001, were invited to reconnect with their alma mater. The event saw an impressive turnout, with over 550 alumni in attendance, along with faculty members. Distinguished guests, including the Founding Rector, Prof. Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi, H.I., S.I., the Rector, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, former Directors of CUI Wah, and Principal Officers, graced the occasion with their presence.

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National anthem. The Campus Director, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., extended a warm welcome to the participating alumni, emphasizing the significance of the day as a unique opportunity to reunite with former teachers and staff while witnessing the transformation of their alma mater. He underscored the importance of maintaining a strong connection with alumni and highlighted the various ways they could contribute to the university's growth. He encouraged alumni support through financial and non-financial means, such as internships, job placements, industrial visits, professional training sessions, seminars, and academic feedback.

Alumni from various departments were given the platform to share their experiences and rekindle cherished memories. Mr. Muhammad Talha, an alumnus of the Computer Science department, shared his success story and paid tribute to the faculty members whose distinctive teaching styles played a pivotal role in his professional journey. Similarly, Mr. Mohtishim Hussain from Software Engineering and Mr. Haseeb Abbas from Computer Engineering reminisced about their time at CUI Wah and the lasting impact of their education.

The event was skillfully hosted by Mr. Sabeeh Ahmed Saeed, a lecturer and alumnus of the CS department, alongside Ms. Sara Shad, a student of the 2nd semester in the CS department. A special poem, written and presented by Ms. Noor Fatima (an alumna), beautifully captured the essence of student life and the nostalgia of university days. Additionally, two talented alumni entertained the audience with musical performances, adding to the event's vibrancy. To further engage the attendees, a brief quiz session was conducted, with winners receiving small gift packs as tokens of appreciation.

In his address, the Rector of CUI, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, emphasized the need for more frequent alumni engagement events to strengthen the bond between the university and its graduates. He highlighted the vast alumni network of approximately 100,000 individuals and the immense potential they hold in contributing to the university’s progress. He also commended the Campus Director for the timely completion of the state-of-the-art Academic Block-I within just one year.

The Founding Rector, Dr. Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi, H.I., S.I., also addressed the gathering, lauding the achievements of CUI Wah. He urged alumni to support and mentor their successors, reinforcing their role in the success of both the university and the nation.

This well-coordinated event was jointly organized by the faculty team, led by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhatti, In-Charge of the Career Development Center (CDC), along with a dedicated team of ushers. The successful execution of the event underscored the university’s commitment to fostering lasting relationships with its alumni, ensuring their continued involvement in its future endeavors.
