The Department of Computer Science, CUI Wah Campus arranged an online tutorial session for the senior undergraduate students on September 28, 2023 under the supervision of Tenured Professor, Dr. Nadir Shah. The session covers the Kubernetes environment, its services, and adaptation advantages.

The speaker was Xianlong Qin, from Cisco Systems (U.S.) working as a Software Technical Leader. The session began with a formal introduction of Xianlong Qin. The speaker gave an overview of Kubernetes networking concepts and guided students to learn knowledge and properly establish the prerequisite required with suggestions of software engineering, basic computer networking, operating systems, and programming languages like Python, Java, etc.

He demonstrated the basic architecture of Kubernetes, its overall working, and then delved into different components of the architecture. Moreover, the speaker also runs many scenarios practically to brief the working of different components of Kubernetes.

He discussed the job perspectives in the relevant industries and gave some tips for job hunting from his personal experiences. A question/answer session was also held to address queries and to clarify students’ concepts. The session concluded with a vote of thanks.
