Dr. Atta ur Rehman Shah is an accomplished Mechanical Engineer and Associate Professor with over 8 years of experience teaching at the university level. With a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, he has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Engineering Statics, Mechanics of Materials, Stress Analysis, Mechanical Behavior of Materials and Fracture Mechanics. His expertise also extends to supervising students’ theses on fabrication, characterization, and machining of composite materials.

Dr. Atta's research interests lie in the areas of biodegradable materials, composite materials, sustainability, and finite element analysis. He has published extensively in renowned international journals and books, further contributing to the advancement of the field. In addition to his academic and professional achievements, he is also committed to addressing global environmental challenges. Specifically, his aim is to reduce the impact of plastic pollution on the environment and to contribute to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals related to Climate Change and Responsible Consumption & Production. Through his research, teaching, and leadership roles, Dr. Atta is actively working towards a more sustainable future for all.

He is the previous Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at Wah Campus and currently serving as Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering program across all campuses of COMSATS University Islamabad.
