“Kamra-e-Imtihan” is a series of miniature paintings that shed light on the plight of girls in our society. Whenever a girl is visited by a prospective suitor, she often faces harsh comments about her appearance or is subjected to unacceptable demands like dowry. Unfortunately, many parents are forced to fulfill these demands to marry off their daughters. Otherwise, the girls remain at their parent’s homes, and by the age of 25, they are considered old, have to face societal pressure and struggle to find suitable matches. Throughout this painful process, girls experience deep insecurity and emotional distress. These paintings serve as a voice for all the girls who have endured such experiences, conveying their pain and resilience.
